To fix a Sega Rally 2 blackscreen....

Postby MichaelMichael54321 » Sat Jan 13, 2018 6:19 pm

You probably might remember this post...

What still bothers me is I still haven't figured out why it happened--it just happened. Even worse, is that through the replies to it, is there hasn't been any confirmation by anyone else getting it.

I also made a post which included the error.log of the issue for reference.

Help would be greatly appreciated, I really (and I do mean really, there's a time challenge I want to do) want to play this game again on the LATEST version and not r520.

What's funny is that was the only change with the .zip I had with the full dump you prescribed...

...and a manual rename didn't work.

Supermodel does not care about ROM names. It loads by CRC. However, if there are ROMs present in the zip file from another ROM set (e.g., srally2x or something like that), it may choose the wrong game to load. You should look at the command prompt output (or error.log) to see if there were any warnings about ambiguous ROMs.

I'll check again by CRC when I get the chance.
On a half-positive note, the Deluxe (srally2x) ROM boots fine with no problem, so I can isolate that away.

Well, after just getting r714, the problem is no more.

You can lock this thread if you want...
