I think Bart should include this in the readme or a post-it in this forum
;)

It probably should be noted, though after some testing it does seem to cause some sound issues. I'll play around with it a bit more but once the emulator is loaded affinity needs to be set to 1 briefly then back to 0/1 to keep everything running correctly.

I tried setting affinity to both cores but that's how it loads by default so it's no different. I can only get it to run full speed when I set the affinity to 1 for a moment then back to 0/1 and I have to do this once 3D is on screen (or maybe it's once sound has kicked in, I can't really tell). If I leave it on one core it just causes sound issues (which is expected).

No, all of those things are just ordinary textured meshes and there's no way for Supermodel to tell them apart from any other object it renders. Even if it could, it would have no effect. Besides lighting, texture mapping takes a lot more work than it should because I have to do bilinear filtering manually due to Model 3's texture layout (a proper caching system and real scene graph management should fix this but that would take an entirely new renderer).

You can try to use the "flat shaded" shader (which is not really flat shaded, it just samples the texture once instead of four times to get a representative color from the center point) and see if it improves performance. To find it, download the source code and grab the file Src/Graphics/Shaders/Fragment_Flat.glsl .

Then run Supermodel as 'supermodel -frag-shader=Fragment_Flat.glsl game.zip'

See if it helps. But it'll look funny :)

I have tried what you said about unchecking the CPU 1 wait and recheck again in supermodel process in taskmanager. It improved a little bit, I could get 60 FPS but in some areas, but not most of them (and there are some kinda serious slow downs in some parts as well, like going from 50 FPS to 25 FPS for a few seconds; that happens in some courses).

Bart, will future versions of the emulator reduce it's requirements?

That's interesting! Could it be added in the future as an option without messing in the source code? I'm not too good in "those things" ;)
