but the quality is bad, stupid ipod touch
p.s. the game is not running at full speed, it should be around 4x fps only, so it is a bit easier for me since i got more time to deal with the corner

Here is a video from me playing / mucking about last night. It is nothing amazing (in comparison to my Ridge Racer 2 / Vivanonno video), but it shows what's possible on a decent machine. The video loses some detail due to the compression when coverting from a 20Gb file to a 52Mb!

I was playing Daytona2 a lot yesterday on normal settings and even using the phantom car in manual the best I could manage with the 360 pad was 5th. Couldn't decide whether powersliding on the last corner from 4th-3rd or 4th-2nd was better, also found power edition "slightly easier" on the beginner track...

Scud Race im just as useless as ever!! Best I can manage is 15th! Just can't get to grips with the handling at all!! Has anyone found a marked difference in control going from a pad to steering wheel...is the handling better???

The handling with a wheel will always be better. i defy anyone to post a lap comparison with wheel vs pad, where the pad demonstrates better driving. See also: pad vs arcade stick; pad vs mouse and keyboard.

I use a pad for convenience in fps, only because my pc is hooked up to my telly and a mouse and keyboard isn't practical. It is the worst.of all other options though.

I changed saturation to 150 but didn't change the deadzone...even the saturation made a difference but I can't help feeling I need to get my driving force pro hooked up to stand any chance of getting 1st in daytona2 and poss making my life a little easier in scud race!! :)

I've got a new found appreciation for just how tough these games were! I've realised that back in the days of playing them in the arcade, I only ever tended to go on the beginner courses, which you could fairly easily scrape by in without any mastery of the more advanced driving skills in the game (normally it was just all about beating your friends in multiplayer). I still can't quite get my head around the drifiting technique in Scud Race. I've been practising on the medium course using the Mclaren, and everytime I get to the big U shaped bend in the Aztec looking temple I mess it up (I created a save state right before it so I could keep practising and I still can't frigging do it - must've tried about 60 times!). I hit the brake and turn into it and then hit the accelerator again once I think the angle's right. The car either turns too far to the left and spins out before I can try to correct it or I'll manage to get it into the drift successfully, but it still ends up sliding into the far wall and crashing. Anyone got any bright ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? (This is with a wheel BTW).

Ok, ignore my previous post. I've had more of a practice today and I think the McLaren drifitng technique has finally started to click for me. I'm still finding it a bit hit and miss at times, but I think I've sort of got my head around it. Still, not quite enough to actually finish the medium track on the go I Video captured below though. D'oh!
