Hi Ian

We still have a bug in the supermodel (windscreen)
I played Scud Race Deluxe for a long time and I know that (windscreen) is a part of it.

It is very difficult to find a video with this display on Youtube ..

This is the version of the Mame (Mame 0.118) emulator

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... e=emb_logo

But the Standard Edition does not have this display
So it's pretty chaos ..

Scud race deluxe yes
Scud race standard no

Only the owner of Scud race deluxe can confirm
_________________________________________________
Standard version does not this - (crt tv 27 ")

The deluxe version uses a 50 "projection TV and seat tilt motors. These versions have been preserved extremely little and it is impossible to find this display on Youtube.

I think the Model 3 Hardvare detects which machine is being used and switches the graphics to a Deluxe or Standard machine :?:

Or Test Menu is not fully functional. (Fully emulated)?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUYWJmQqOys

The deluxe version uses tilting (left, right) using the engine and
responds exactly to the controls in the game

These outputs are not yet emulated :?:

If my question was answered elsewhere I couldn;t find it.. First off, my thanks to those still improving this great emulator.

Hopefully this is something simple.. Any build after r787 will not run, at all.. It appears to immediately crash at load, and wont create
any error logs. Did minimum pc requirements change after r787? I've tried on 2 different pc's and get the exact same outcome up to r830.
Do the newer builds require any supporting DLL runtime upgrades such as .NET? Both pc's have up to DX12 capabilities..

I'm stuck and any help is greatly appreciated.

Also im using the builds supplied here, and have tried both x86 and x64 on a Win10 x64 Pro based machine(s)

Try building it yourself.
Instructions are at the Help page on the main site. It’ll take all of 15 minutes the first time.
Then you can update and stay up to date with like 30 seconds of effort.

Thanks for the reply Bart.. Maybe i'll try compiling myself.. I haven't compiled an emulator since the early MAME dsys
But the question I have now is, shouldn't a official release from here work out of box? What would compiling myself change?

Generally speaking you don't know how the prebuilt EXEs are compiled and with which CPU flags / options...

Building by yourself will ensure that the compiled build will work on your computer, or, better, with your CPU!! 8-)

If you're interested, here's the explanation (see post in Gentoo forum discussion)
If you read the gcc manual, you'll see that march specifies the instruction set to use, meaning it should be set to either 'generic' or the lowest common denominator of your target CPUs, and that mtune specifies which specific optimizations to apply, meaning it should be set to match the processor you use most frequently.

There are no more official releases. These forum builds are unaudited and not produced by Supermodel core team members.

I don't understand what you are talking about...If the "windscreen" are tilt motions in the seat or monitor then of course they're not (and will never be) emulated.

It's your pc configuration's fault, I've tried supermodel on many pc's, older and newer, and the emulator always runs. With bugs and glitches maybe, but it starts and loads games anyway. Except for a few romsets in the most recent versions, nothing has really changed in the core program. Try running with a frontend, or switch frontend, and also switch graphics drivers.

I have successful set up the 2 players netplay of SpikeoutFE with r803 build (64bits).

I tried to use the latest r830 release build (64bits) to test, but the emulator always crashed every time.
So I have successfully built the Supermodel.exe (r830) following by the instructions "Building Supermodel From Source Code On Windows Using MSYS2 And GCC", which with the ET_BOARD variable "NET_BOARD = 1".
With the build I did by myself the emulator can run without crash, however, it always shows "CANCELLED, NETWORK BOARD NOT PRESENT".

Can anyone tell me how to fix it ?
Thank you very much.

might be crashing if you have a network build
you need to make sure you have something like this in the config

EmulateNet = 0
port_in = 1970
port_out = 1971
addr_out = "127.0.0.1"
