The lost world crosshair not showing up

Postby terminento » Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:05 am

Hi, I don't know if anyone has this problem too, but on r270, I can't seem to get the crosshair for the lost world to shop up. I did not have this problem in r261.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Have you tried pressing Alt-I?

(Slaps own forehead)
I had forgotten about the keyboard shortcut! That did the trick!
Sorry for the ultra-noob-like question

In the latest SVN, the default crosshair mode (none, 1P, 1&2P) can be set on the command line (-crosshairs=<n>) or in the INI file (Crosshairs). Valid options are 0, 1, and 2.

I see. Actually, for what I've tried out, valid options are 0, 1, 2 and 3:
0 - no crosshairs
1 - only player 1 crosshair
2 - Only player 2 crosshair
3 - Both crosshairs

I'm guessing that, since this is not the official, supported version of the emu (yet), this information won't be added to the FAQ section just yet, as this Ini option doesn't seem to work in previous versions of supermodel (I tried it in r261 and it didn't work. P1 crosshair was activated by default, though, and hitting alt+I cicled through all of the options).

But since the officially supported build has the option via keyboard shortcut, maybe you could add the following to the FAQ section:
Q: "How do I get the second player crosshair to show up in The Lost World?"
A: "You can cycle between 1P, 2P, both players, or no crosshair, by hitting alt+I"

I know that the shortcut is detailed in the help page, but this page doesn't detail the ini file line option and it doesn't state that the keystroke cycles though a set of options (I haven't played the game with two players yet, so I thought the alt+I option toggled the crosshairs on and off, and that the 2P one would appear when a second player joined the game, that is, after hitting 2P start).
Also, the official readme file still states that the P1 crosshair will be on by default in full screen mode (which is no longer the case). I know that the help page and readme file haven't been changed because the latest SVN isn't oficially supported yet (as it is not offered as a compiled download in the emu page), but since this option, as well as this info, are kind of obscure, maybe the emu should revert to P1 crosshair on in fullscreen by default?

EDIT: I see that the latest UI has an option for crosshairs (Only for P1, though).
