Emulator crashes/closes on start up

Postby RubyMistress1 » Sun Sep 20, 2020 2:52 pm

Hey I'm new to model 3 emulation, I used to download older versions of the emulator through shady file sharing sites and used an old frontend from 2011 and could input my controls and play with no hassle. Lately however the newest versions I got from there would give me a message saying "error: unknown outputs: net" before immediately closing command prompt. I thought since it was from a shady site the files were probably broken so I downloaded the newest version from here along with a new fancy pink frontend but now command prompt just opens and closes instantly with the emulator just not starting, it won't even let me configure my inputs anymore. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

"Net" is not a supported output type. I guess someone had a custom build where they were sending outputs over a network protocol but this is not supported by the official Supermodel branch yet.

Oh that's strange, I thought it was the same problem on the official release at first but I don't get the error message, it just closes immediately after opening

That's a different issue, then, and I think a few threads mention it here. I think there's a DLL that people are failing to distribute. Recommended you build your own version. It's super simple.

If it crashes on startup it might be because you have a network enabled build and it's crashing because it's trying to read the ports from the ini file but they are missing.
