Supermodel Stopped Working

Postby tomas333 » Sun Oct 09, 2011 1:33 pm

Hey:

I've recently downloaded Supermodel and decided to try SW Arcade. I followed the given instructions (it's amazing, after all these years I still remember how to use DOS  ) but after I enter into cmd:

c:\supermodel\supermodel whatever.zip

all I get is an error message: Supermodel stopped working (APPCRASH). I'm running the thing on my laptop under Win7, I dunno what else am I doing wrong... So, please help me out dudes !!!

Cheers

Has it ever worked in the first place for you? Also, are you running the 32-bit or 64-bit version. Try both and see if either work for you.

I think the best way to test if it works is dragging the rom.zip to supermodel.exe
luck ;)

thnx for you replies.

i've tried both suggestions: using 64 bits (originally using 32 bits), and dragging the .zip file into the executable. None of them worked, however the latter method seemed to initiate a small white window and a lot of message activity in the cmd display. I couldn't read, pause or take a screen of the messages, but I did read something about 'pixel shader'. I guess my vga is not supported then, huh ??? curse you, intel gma !!!

well the reason you cant run supermodel is "intel gma" onboard cards cant run it, but you can try using this shader

http://www.supermodel3.com/Files/Fragme ... light.glsl
put it in the root folder with supermodel.exe and include this in the command lines, for example if you're running scud race

supermodel scud.zip -frag-shader=Fragment_NoSpotlight.glsl

that should help you

It would also be useful to post the contents of the error.log file that is generated after you try running a game.

OpenGL 2.1 and GLSL 1.2 are required, unfortunately.
