Cannot get stable 57.524 hz in linux with model2 emu

Postby resadent » Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:45 am

Hi all, I have ben using model2 emulator for a while on linux but yesterday I used gallium hud to see how smooth it was and I saw it was all the time displaying a frame at 10ms and then the next at 20 miliseconds. I am sure my screen is at 57.524 hz because I used switchres https://github.com/antonioginer/switchres from antonio giner to force that modeline on a crt display. I tried both framelock on and off, and also tearfree from x.org (which is like a sorta vsync function) on and off, but there was no way the emu would produce anything close to a 17.38ms frame time.

Is there anything I could do to sort this out? :/

The point of my experiment was to use model2 in a crt display. I was using 57.524 screen refresh, is that not fine?
