Daytona USA control problems

Hey guys. New here. I have just started using supermodel and got most of the games working great
One problem I have with Daytona usa2 is when staring a game on the tracks which do not start with a rolling start (advanced and expert) when the race starts my throttle.is locked on full and the game just keeps saying "watch your throttle res line" or something like that. My buttons are all mapped correctly as it works fine on the beginner course, even the analogue triggers etc work. They also work on sega rally 2. I'm using an Xbox 360 wired controller. Hopefully someone can help as I want to play the other tracks in this game. Thank guys.
