Looks like the last couple of 'optional' AMD drivers are starting to grind again. Not as bad as before, but not great.
I fear us AMD plebs are heading back to the dark ages. :(
You don't notice until you play the snow stage of rally2, it hits slow patches there.
Rally2 was always the hardest on the AMD drivers, especially the snow stage.
Rally2 also needs a higher ppc setting, hence all the confusion. AMD users don't know if its the emu settings or the driver causing problems.
It's a bit of both.

As an AMD RX580 user, my advice is stick with Adrenalin 22.7.1, set ppc to 85 for Rally2 and all is good.
Use Rally2 as a benchmark, if you can play that, you can play anything.

@neuzz
you're ppc must be too low if it struggles with both old and new engine
I use default 50 for most games and only go up to 85 for games that can struggle. No need for any low or silly high numbers. :)

Okay. I leave my technical specifications at the end.
then clarify that I follow the progress and tested each version of "supermodel" since 2011 and I have seen each of its advances and it is very advanced with the new rendering engine ... personally I have executed 58fps with previous versions and with low-end PC means.
Now the game is more demanding because of its accuracy.
it's no one's fault, for now accept amd as they are.
I run demul, flycast, rpcs3 at 60fps.
threw my pc in the trash?

did you try this driver

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-22-7-1

it had the OpenGL Optimizations.

The very latest drivers are slow again

PS:
It's an 'optional' driver, so you will not of seen it if your AMD settings are 'recommended only'
