Experiencing several setup issues

Hi guys, I got into Supermodel 3 so I can emulate some fun lightgun games, however I've had some issues with setup. Yesterday I was able to get Star Wars Trilogy to boot to the attract screen but didn't set up the controls. However I had to do this through command prompt, and I wanted to set up a .bat file to boot the game from the exe as described in the Sinden lightgun page for supermodel 3. I wasn't able to get it to boot despite following the instructions there, so I gave up for a while but today when I came back to try it, after running the exe a few times to try to get it to run with different variations of the .bat file, I received the message "This app can't run on your PC... to find a version for you PC, check software developer." I even tried booting through the cmd method that worked earlier and it didn't work there either. I'm sorry if I'm overlooking something very simple but I'm very new to this, emulating arcades in general. Any help to get me back on my feet would be appreciated.
