Lol, could lead to useless (but necessary) things like a pop up showing the lights for those who play in windowed mode... XD
Or, why not, an entire skin showing the real arcade board and the game runing on it.

Lol, interresting idea for when Supermodel will be on alpha-release... xD
Sorry if I speak english like a Belgian cow... ^^,

What are you attempting to probe with your logic analyzer? Looks like a fascinating project...

The logic analyzer informed me about the signal between pcb and ffb board (Command duration, default value, etc). I also analysed the 8bits port return (ffb to pcb), it's just a digital copy of the wheel potentiometer Position.

Next step is to build a usb interface to send commands to the ffb board.

Result is night an day, with the happ motor board the feedback is limp, with the 500W Servo it is nice and strong - on the M3 wheel setup, Grid is more like Scud Race 2 :)

I wonder if that's because Grid was adapted into a Sega coin-op? http://system16.com/hardware.php?id=907#19017

Thats really cool, keep it up man. Ive got daytona usa 2 arcade with real controls however, parts are extremely expensive to get and ive already had the video board fail on one side so this would be awesome to run off supermodel instead. Just need some clever chap to emulate the com board for some local network play and my life is complete

I have interfacing an Arduino to the drive board + power board + panel.

The Arduino send the correct init sequence and activate the spring effect (auto center).

Next step is to modify the supermodel 3 code to send the information directly to the Arduino rather than transcript in Direct output FFB commands.

Will the source be available for this later on? As great as this looks, dinput FFB would be much more useful in the long run.

With that said, I would only use your method with supermodel. You won't get much more accurate than this!

I joined this forum just to follow this topic!

Thank you for your hard work. As a SuperGT cab owner, I'd love to see this happen.

Sorry for the delay. In parallel, I work on the same think for Daytona USA 1 with Model 2 Emulator.

To remember my work, I create this page: http://superusr.free.fr/model3.htm

Now, I just need to modify the driveboard.cpp file to send commands directly to the arduino (virtual serial device).

I'm not sure the FFB commands are exposed in M2Emu at the moment for Daytona. The lamp outputs aren't at least (ElSemi said it's a bug).

It would certainly be interesting to know what protocol the drive board recieves on Daytona 1 though. It'd be pretty great to have an interface board that could convert Daytona 1 protocol to model 3 or midi drive boards.

Hope you keep up the good work on this, I check your threads and website often :)
