Based on the challenge in your YouTube video, the answer to how many Daytona 2 instances you can run on a single machine; in this case, a Ryzen 9 3950X / X570 mboard with 32GiB RAM and a GeForce RTX 2070:

no network: [flags: -no-threads -wide-screen -res=960,540]
- 7 @ 60 fps [the 8th, and beyond, instance fail to start due to ALSA sound issues - see attached image]

no network - no sound: [flags: -no-threads -wide-screen -res=960,540 -no-sound -no-dsb]
- 16 @ ~56-59 fps
With 16 instances, CPU usage was not totally pegged, and GPU was at about ~85% workload, and ~40% memory usage.

with network, no sound [flags: -no-threads -wide-screen -res=960,540 -no-sound -no-dsb -net]
- 12 @ ~25 fps

Pretty awesome. What does the - no-dsb command do? I'm not familiar with it.

It disables MPEG board emulation.

I've made a new multi-player network set-up tutorial to reflect the changes in the setup process now, using the new simulated netboard:

Thanks, Alex! I'm very thankful for your efforts in supporting and evangelizing Supermodel :)

I'm very curious about how people like to consume instructional content these days. Obviously, the README.txt has not been popular (and is now out of date as a result). The advantage of text based content, like web pages, is that you can skim through it much more quickly but video content is inarguably more engaging. I often wonder how YouTube itself could be improved. Breaking videos down into segments, as you have done, is really helpful, and I wonder if this could be taken even further with annotations and the ability to quickly zoom into very specific beats (perhaps even auto-extracted via AI).

I think the 'read me' files were perfectly fine for conveying information, but for some reason a lot of people just seemed totally averse to using them. I don't know if they were just put off by a large volume of text with no pictures or they just didn't know the file even existed. I've had so many people in the past asking me how to setup an emulator they've downloaded or something like the Teknoparrot FFB plugin and I have to tell them they've got a file on their PC which already explains it in far more detail than I could in a YouTube reply.

Whilst I've been happy following 'read me' files myself in the past, I must admit I much prefer a video tutorial. Something that can put me off though is an excessive length of the video, which is why I immediately explain in this one that the main tutorial isn't 30+ mins long, and the added length is to go into some additional features (plus also why I added the chapters).

I've made a sort of postscript video to the set-up one, with some additional things you can do with a Supermodel network and some extra set-up info:

Wow! How fast is Japanese Internet? I assume Spikeout has the same < 1 frame of round-trip latency requirement other Model 3 games do. Or was it designed to operate over longer distances (can't imagine that being the case else it would have used a normal NIC)?
