Using Supermodel 3 in Real CAB with Mala

Postby MariaKim » Sun May 31, 2020 4:36 am

Hello,
I just found Supermodel 3, and as a long time fan of "Star Wars Arcade" i was super ecited to try it.

I am using a real old cabinet with CRT Monitors and Controllers for two persons with 3 buttons each.

(As you might found out by now, i am not very good at this technical stuff, maybe you can help ;-) )

My Mame PC (HP Workstation xw4600) runs VGA/PS2/Audio to a mame Adapter that does the communication between PC and Cab.

As a frontend for all Emus i am Using Mala.

So, now i edited Mala to run with Supermodel3. I added "-res=640,480 -fullscreen" to the startup .exe file.

Supermodel start perfectly with picture and sound for SW Arcade, but the controller is totally messed up.

My Joystick works but a minimal movment of the stick moves the crosshair die the edge of the screen (as if there is too much sensitivity or something) and the Firebutton is on the second persons controller.

Maybe someone can help me setup controls?

Wishes,
Maria

There's your problem: PS2 is keyboard emulation, so you won't be able to get analog controls (unless you can make it so it emulates a mouse.) You need to find a way to make the cab joystick signal converted in an analog format (like emulating a joystick or xbox gamepad). Once that is done, you need to configure the controls using the -config-inputs command.
