Not possible. OpenGL is an API (a standardized interface to 3D graphics) that your drivers will provide. If you are running the latest drivers and they do not provide OpenGL 2.1, it means that your card doesn't really support the required features of that API.

If you're attempting to run Supermodel and getting that error message, it essentially means that your graphics card does not support OpenGL 2.1, which is needed to run Supermodel. Updating your drivers might solve the problem, but chances are you need a newer graphics card.

I once had this problem with my old laptop, which only supported OpenGL 2.0. Fortunately I was able to get it working with some tweaks to the shader files (I say tweaks, I mean commenting out all the "#version 120" tags), albeit with some minor graphical glitches such as the headlights in Le Mans 24. Most of these should not occur if the Fragment_NoSpotlight.glsl file is used.

I provide a compatibility 32-bit build of Supermodel 0.2a below for those who do not have OpenGL 2.1. Mind you, you will likely still need OpenGL 2.0 to get it to work. Here's the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2SO3B1MO

Hopefully this will allow more people to get Supermodel up and running :D

I'm sorry but even with this part, thank you anyway, where do I go to see the data of the video card at least you have an idea with what you have to do!

Type in the option "-print-gl-info" when running Supermodel (without the quotes), you should get something like this (this is on my new computer):

Code: Select all
OpenGL information:

                   Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
                 Renderer: GeForce GTS 450/PCI/SSE2
                  Version: 4.2.0
Shading Language Version: 4.20 NVIDIA via Cg compiler
Maximum Vertex Array Size: 1048576 vertices
     Maximum Texture Size: 16384 texels
Maximum Vertex Attributes: 16
  Maximum Vertex Uniforms: 4096

What you're after is the OpenGL version and Shading Language (GLSL) version. On my old laptop, it gives the OpenGL version as 2.0 and the GLSL version as 1.1. Officially, you need OpenGL 2.1 which has GLSL 1.2 to run Supermodel, but the tweaked version that I've provided should work with OpenGL 2.0.

As for anything less than OpenGL 2.0, good luck but I don't think you'll get it to run well at all.

*sigh* Download the file GLinfo.zip below. From it, extract the file GLinfo.bat into the folder where Supermodel is. Run GLinfo.bat inside the Supermodel folder. It should produce a file called OpenGL.txt. Open it, and post everything that it says.

If you can't do this, there is nothing more that I can do to help you.

Is an error.log file produced?
