Series X gamepad triggers

Hi all,

Trying to play Daytona 2 and SEGA Rally 2, and I'm having issues mapping my Series X gamepad with Supermodel... no matter what I do, it does not recognize the triggers separately. Not in game, not in test mode, and not in the config-inputs mode.

Before you ask, yes, I make sure to specify -input-system=xinput on game launches and when configuring inputs (it says InputSystem=xinput in supermodel.log), but still no dice. I've also tried changing the config manually in Notepad - accelerator to RZAXIS_POS and brake to ZAXIS_POS - but again, no dice. The right trigger simply doesn't register at all when I try that.

I saw another thread where someone was having similar troubles with a Series X pad, unable to get the triggers separated. Are SX pads just not supported in xinput for Supermodel? Pulling my hair out about this!

Thanks for any input (ha)

I haven't personally tried a Series X gamepad but I'm pretty sure they should work just fine with the xinput option as you've done. Make sure you are specifying it both when configuring and running the game. Because I lack one of these devices, I unfortunately can't offer any more help but hopefully someone can confirm definitively whether they work or not.

Try checking on https://gamepad-tester.com/ what axis correspond to the triggers.

I use an Xbox One Controller and it has worked with Sega Rally, Daytona, and Scud Race.

I made a tutorial for it - https://youtu.be/qWEQ2w0Bv2Y

As I said in the OP, I am. XD That's why I was getting so frustrated, I'm following all the instructions I've found.

It doesn't seem to actually have an axis, the only axes are the sticks. The triggers are showing up as buttons... but still somehow analog (I'm half-pressing the right trigger to show that):

This is bizarre. It shows up as an axis in the Windows controller setup window, and it works absolutely fine in every other game I play (including the Nebula model 2 emulator).

Could the fact I've got it running via Bluetooth mess it up?

Thanks

Edit: I should probably also mention that vibration doesn't work at all either.
