Solution - Fixing Le Mans 24 Hours & Dirt Devil Roms

Decided to give this its own thread so it's easier for everyone to find without any problems.

You are here because your Dirt Devil and Le Man 24 Hours model 3 board game is NOT working and you cannot find the necessary EPR files online to solve the problem. Ok. This is what you need to do.

DIRT DEVIL SOLUTION
To get DIRT DEVIL working, please find the missing epr-19338a.bin in your Scud Race game rom, "scud.zip".
1)All you need to do is open the scud.zip using your compression program (Winzip, Winrar, etc).
2) Drag & drop the epr-19338a.bin file into your DIRT DEVIL rom, "dirtdvls.zip". The compression program should transfer it automatically.

Remember, when you boot up DIRT DEVIL, do NOT forget to calibrate your Steering to solve any control issues. YOu can calibrate your steering by going to the Service option in the game. Once you have done it, you'll be all set to play the game properly.

LE MAN 24 HOURS SOLUTION
To get Le Man 24 rom working is a little trickier but still easy.

1) Open your Sega Touring Car Championship file (yes, your model 2 game), "stccb.zip". Inside that file, you'll find, "epr-18261.ic9".
2) What you need to do is extract that file onto your desktop.
3) Rename the file extension from "epr-18261.ic9" to "epr-18261.bin".
4) Drop the newly renamed file into your LeMan 24 rom, "lemans24.zip". The compression program should transfer the file into the zip automatically.

Unfortunately, this game doesn't have a steering calibration in the Service menu (test only) but remember this... Do not use the brake to make a corner, just ease off the acceleration and carefully steer your car around all corners where necessary.

Done! Both games will now work. Enjoy and I hope this thread will help everyone.

Thanks for this mate. Unfortunately I saw it a bit too late to save me having to do a bit of detective work to try and get my LeMans.zip working (I had to record my screen and then watch it back in slow mo to see what the error message was about the missing EPROM). Luckily though you saved me the hassle of having to do the same with Dirt Devils ROM, plus you learned me something, I hadn't realised you could just add the missing stuff to a zip file without unzipping it first and then re-zipping. Good call on the Dirt Devil wheel calibration as well!

So, this file - epr-18261.ic9 - is not on my stcc zip file, which is stcc.zip.
Them i found both stcca.zip and stccb.zip on the net, but both did not have this file.

hello,
may be your rom is incomplet or not uptodate
note that supermodel loads rom based on the crc, not based on the filename, the file you search has crc 0C7FAC58 (could be named otherwise than "epr-18261.ic9")

little explanation
stcc is sega touring car championship model 2 game
stcca and stccb are respectively revision A and B
stcc rom is the parent rom of revision stcca and stccb
depending your set of rom you have (merged, non merged or split)
merged : only 1 file with all revision. stcc.zip(23.5Mo) must contain stcca and stccb folder Inside witch contain only the modifications
split : 3 files. stcc.zip (parent rom 23M) and stcca.zip(250ko) and stccb.zip(250ko) witch contains only the modifications for revision
non merged : 3 files. you will have stcc.zip stcca.zip and stccb.zip, all are standalone game (23Mo)

hope this help you to find the "missing" rom
