Hi,

I am late to the party, but I want to share some of my thoughts (if still interested).

Past (you can skip this section):
Model2 has been always my favourite arcade system of all times (maybe System11 too, but I always prefered VF2 on Model2 than Tekken series on System11/12).
Seeing it for the 1st time around 1995 I was literally blown away. Smooth (fluid!) 60 FPS, 3D backgrounds, each character with different fighting style... I couldn't believe it was operating for only 0,50 quid per game. Then emulator "Virtua" showed up (emulated only 2D graphics, sound and inputs) but due to lack of 3D graphics it didn't catch much of audience. Pity. Then Modeler gave us some hopes for Model1 emulator, but (again), lack of emulation of 3D objects only proved, that Fujitsu TGP won't be something easy to crack. Damn pity. Then Nebula Model2 emulator 0.1 appeared. The emulation community was crazy about this emulator. Each new version was a huge leap in Model2 emulation process. Nice. Meanwhile, something started to born on MAME with Model3 emulation (you know it); first screens on system16.com gave us high hopes that something is waiting around the corner. Then a massive slap on the face - Model3 emulation would require 4 GHz processor (when home 'standard' was something like 600-800 Mhz) on MAME and ~10 years of efforts. Very Pity. Today, we are in the posiotion to run/play games from Model3 flawlessy, Model2 games with some minor bugs (Jacky hair for example) and Model1 games with bugs, but still playable.

Present:
Seeing emulation of Model1 and Model2 on Supermodel(s) 8-) would be awesome. My wishlist:
- Model1 emulation with rendering in high resolution or HD (4:3). That tiny window in MAME is OK, unless you don't play on 50" TV. Just can't imagine seeing that flat polygons in HD. Maybe that's why I like "Cars Town" on YT so much (when my 4 y.o such is watching it ;) )
- no network play requirement (maybe later)
- force feedback in Virtua Racing!
- 'cheat' codes system (like in MAME) to play as Shiba instead of Akira in VF, unless VF prototype is found&dumped.
- basic/raw Model2 emulation with later additions like FF, network play
- and my dream... 3D display (2 rendering windows, Side by Side with parallax intensity slider). Don't know even if such 'fake' 3D rendering is possible, but if we can calculate camera position (what we see) is possible, then maybe? Please compare camera position in VF2 intro in MAME and M2 emulator - bug in emulation or camera position is badly calculated?
- Model3 is nearly perfect. I don't expect enything beyond current status. The enormous amount of work and the effect obtained is of the highest quality. I can't find a better emulator now. Maybe the M2 emulator is on par, but since it's undeveloped, I don't take it into account as it wouldn't be fair.

Future:
- I can wait next years for Model1 or 2 emulation if only svn versions will be available to download/testing.

From here I would like to thank Bart and the entire team (both present and pre-Supermodel) for their work (for free), which gives us so much fun. The possibility of going back to the great 90's (thanks to their emulator!) gives me great joy. Thank you!!! :)

While it might not help much, I have attempted to use Ghidra on that one Model 2 emulator that hasn't been worked on for over six years. I hit a wall since it appears to be compressed with zilib, and I have no idea how to decompress it on Windows, even with Cygwin. Though I was able to see some strings of code, as well as what appeared to be menu text, so it's a start!

It is great that Supermodel occupies a small niche and I can't see its relevance diminishing any time soon.

Having said that, adding accurate model 1 and 2 emulation would be a dream!

Nothing is impossible as we can see demul, was nearly added this driver before and as been removed. :)
But i think is possible to make 2 different emulators using the supermodel's engine.
