Am I missing something? Can anyone play network linked games without framerate dropping to 30? which messes up the audio?
I have two original Sega Rally 2 cabinets, and I'm eager to restore them...

Due to an imperfect timing emulation, these racers were not linked at this moment.

I asked the same question a few months ago as, along with Scud Race and Daytona 2, SR2 forms the holy trinity for me... ;-)

Seems like networked play for Sega Rally 2 is not understood at all.... :-(
Details here:

I haven't even ever been able to find the option to enable it in the service menu...

I have managed to get a 16 player linked version of Daytona 2 running though :) - albeit at 25 fps :-(. Details in the same thread linked above.

OK.

This is my output (at this time, for now I'm testing on Win10):
Code: Select all
model3master.exe -ppc-frequency=50 -no-threads -legacy3d -legacy-scsp -input-system=xinput -force-feedback -show-fps -net roms\srally2.zip

    Developer:      Sega
    Year:           1998
    Stepping:       2.0
Extra Hardware: Digital Sound Board (Type DSB2), Drive Board, Net Board

Init netboard
Successfully connected.
Network code copy ending
RESET NetBoard PC=000000
Network pause
RESET NetBoard PC=000800

RESET NetBoard PC=000800
and
Code: Select all
model3_2nd.exe -ppc-frequency=50 -no-threads -legacy3d -legacy-scsp -input-system=xinput -force-feedback -show-fps -net roms\srally2.zip

And the two SEGA Rally 2 instances are stuck on a (pre-boot) black screen state, with "60.00 FPS" in the window title.
Also, setting the cabinet type to "Deluxe" or to "Twin" doesn't work either.

I'm wondering if this issue is realted to the (M. A. M. E.)rom itself, of there are some problems in the Supermodel's code... :?
