Supermodel crashes when executing from cmd

Postby LIDeadHead » Fri Oct 23, 2020 4:27 pm

Hello,

I downloaded and ran version .02a and Supermodel.exe runs with no issue. Find out there is newer versions available on the forum and downloaded SVN r830 and run supermodel.exe the same way and it immediately crashes just running the command itself.

I have Windows 10 v1903 on my cabinet.

Why would the old version run and not crash on startup like the recent version?

Could I be missing some perquisite software needed for the current releases? I can post the entrys from event log if helpful.

Thank you.

I wonder if you're downloading builds someone has made tailored to their specific CPU. Hopefully the Makefiles will be fixed soon and the new builds will start working more broadly but until then, you might have to build yourself to be sure. Takes about 15-20 minutes the first time and then you'll be able to keep up to date with 30 seconds of effort when new SVN updates are made.

Will you modify the cpu-type from -march=native to -march=x86-64?

I am having same problem, the specific error is "Unknown outputs: net", it seems the newer builds emulate NetWork for some reason... no idea how to get fix that.

EDIT: Bart was rigth, whatever build I downloaded was for a specific system.. it was over 100mb big, the official one is around 5mb....

No build should be 100mb big. Where did you find this build?

It was from this website:
http://www.emucr.com/2020/10/supermodel-svn-r832.html

If you go to Download, you will see several links... I downloaded the one from https://megaup.net/ .... they are all supposed to be the exact same file but for some strange reason the upload on that site was 117mb...
Hope I didn't get a virus or something, the official one from this forum with the GU is working pretty flawlessly. BTW are save states not compatible between the version on the website and newest one? Tried loading a save state from 0.2 and it wont load. I know it is pretty common for save states to not work between emulator versions, but just wondering if it has something to do with the vram being different or something
