Supermodel is now on GitHub

Postby Bart » Tue Jun 21, 2022 2:30 pm

Supermodel has moved to GitHub: https://github.com/trzy/Supermodel

I've imported not only the SVN repo but also the old CVS one dating back to 2003 (in a branch called 'cvs' for those who are curious to see what it looked like back then). Going forward, git will be used. The build bot has not yet been updated, though, but should be in the next couple of days.

I hope this makes it easier for contributors to submit pull requests.

Another thing is that you now can have a centralized "TODO: fix this stuff" list with the Issues tab.

I just fork the content, and now you need to tell us how to auto-compile the emulator using the Action option on the github, it works without using the tools in the computer. ;)

I've never used them but can look into it. It looks quite complicated to set up, though.

When i fork ARCADEUI and auto-merge it will work great, but always give me a error in the end of the compile, because the creator stop doing that for a moment and i need to wait for the next version.
Maybe adding the tools we need it will work, because the official mame github it self is working and automerging well.

I've updated my build bot to work with the new Git repo. The current release is not any different than the last SVN one (other than that the copyright message has been changed to encompass the years 2003-2022, since there is code that old in the repo). The build bot script runs 3 times a day on a computer here in my house checking for updates.

If someone can advise on how to do this with GitHub actions that would be great. I have no idea. I spent 10 minutes looking at it and it looks rather complicated, like everything designed by web devs :D

That's a good idea! We should leverage these features. Truth be told Azure DevOps is even better than GitHub but I don't think it's a great place for a public repo.

The first version of Git revision 46eff8c is released. I'm glad to see you made it. :)
