do i need to load specific zip file for this method? (i have 3 files: "swtrilg.zip" "swtrilgj.zip", "swtrilga.zip")
thanks:)
Are you sure you aren't just starting the game too quickly (before 3D graphics are first shown)? This is a common issue with this game and Sega Rally 2.
hi...i doesnt think so. but i will try to start it slower.
what the best zip to load the game?
If the game used to work and now doesn't after changing the test menu settings, try deleting the nvram file for the game to reset it. Then as Bart says, let the game render some 3D stuff before you do anything.
Revision A, ironically called swtrilgy, would be the so called "proper", I can enter the test menu in this version.
Trying to enter the test menu in the other games seems to make Supermodel hang.
What's confusing is your zip file names don't quite line up with the Games.xml, while the Games.xml doesn't use MAME model3 driver game version titles.

MAME lists the 3 versions as;
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (Revision A) = swtrilgy
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade = swtrilgya
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (location test, 16.09.98) = swtrilgyp
Supermodel tries to identify games by the ROM CRCs listed in the Games.xml and not the zip names. If you really wanted to, you could look inside your zips to see what you've got.
An easy way to look inside your ROMs is to use 7zip. You can easily see individual ROM names and their CRC values then check against the Games.xml file. If you don't have a fancy text editor to open xml files, just view it in a web browser. A web browser will respect the formatting and colour code the different sections, making it easily readable.
