Until Bart and Ian can figure out how to split the audio tracks in Sega Rally 2 and only play one at a time during the intro and Rivera stages, I made a temporary fix and edited the audio. It was either keep the intro music and lose the Riviera stage or the opposite. I kept the intro music so it now plays on both, which is ok and less annoying at least.

You need both this build and to replace the file in srally2.zip

Nice 1 ill try this out tonight....have you edited both the svn and rally 2 rom ?

Is the beginning 6 seconds of the theme suppose to be cut out..?

Yes, just the file that checks for CRCs.

No, I didn't cut the intro music out or edit it.. Is anyone else's like that?

Edit: You might be right about this, I compared with the file and it seems a little off but shouldn't be so I don't know why.

Hey, i would like to try this, since the game graphics are amazing and the most anoying this is that sound problems. Unfortunatly i´m on a x86 machine, will this work if i substitute the rom file and the sdl maintaining the supermodel.exe?? Or those must be other files to work with x86 systems?

The game still has other problems anyway so it's not complete temporal fix, the music's broken on the practise stages but I didn't try and do anything with that yet.

Sorry to be a wet blanket but posting of ROMs -- edited or otherwise -- is strictly prohibited. This is a hard requirement to keep the project legal. Sega is aware of this emulator. Sega has historically had a friendly relationship with emulation but this could easily change if projects begin endorsing and facilitating the illegal distribution of games.

You can distribute scripts or programs to patch the ROM file, though, provided the ROM itself is not embedded in the software. The MPEG ROM is accessible as a byte array (mpegROM) from the CModel3 class and could be patched in the Patch() function (Model3.cpp). Alternatively, you can wait a week or two for me to rewrite the ROM system so that it supports loading of ROMs even if the checksums are bad. Unfortunately, in either case, the ROM cannot be linked here.
