Below is a list of sounds that consistently fail to play properly in the sound test. These were found using a Power Edition ROM. You have to go quite far through the sound test to find them, but you'll know when you've found the right ones. The names are exactly as they appear in the sound test, and any mistakes in spelling or grammar are reproduced here, just in case you thought I couldn't use correct English.

car number. .
Now the rolling start
Lets take a look at the replay
The race has been restarted
its full course caution
yellow flag is being waved
There is havy smoke
The fire men have been dispatched
Is the driver ok?
The car is bursting into flames
Nice dodge
The following car. .
Pieces of the car are all . . .
It seems there has
Oh! that was a terrible crash
Oh! the car is caught in a spin
Oh! that was a hard touch
Oh! what a beautiful slingshot
he gets ahed from the outside
he gets ahed from the inside
Is he going to go for a slingshot?
Look at them race side by side
keeps its position

And all the way through to the sound named "saturn". They are all other sounds from the game, but in different pitches at different speeds. It might be easier to use the VR1 button to scroll through the sounds backwards, as they are closer to the end of the sound list. They are typed in reverse order, so they can be found in that order when using VR1 to scroll.

Thanks a lot, man! I may have to delay looking at this until tomorrow or Monday. But I'll get around to it. Busy day today.

It feels good to help towards the development of this absolutely fantastic emulator. I was so confused when I played the "The rolling start begins" sound to hear "Expert, whoops, dot!"

I sat down today and looked into this. I think I've fixed the sound ROM bank switching. I'll have to do some more testing when I get back up to Seattle but so far, the broken sounds in Daytona 2 and Virtual On now seem to be fixed.
