I went to the sound test and I found out that there's a Sega Saturn sounds in the game! Which is the Japanese Saturn Music and the menu sound (when there's no disc in the drive to access the music player) which means that Daytona USA 2 gonna port to Saturn or just a placeholder sound?

Power Edition has a lot more chatter from the pit-boss, which normally comes out the rear speakers (as the game is 4channel).

Reason for the "country codes" was to stop grey-imports, as in the 90's it was cheaper to import used machines from Japan than to buy new.

The region codes in the 90's where worth a lot of money as only several people knew them outside of Sega of Japan tech.

The truth is that someone who worked for Deith Leisure (who where part of Sega at the time - Deith Leisure went bust about a year later), leaked the codes (I heard rumours that another company paid a few thousand GBP for it) - Anyway end of the day this leak caused some issues, to this day Japan hasn't given out schematics for the JVS I/O board, let alone anything else.. I think the last schematics from Japan where for the Naomi 2.

They still use region codes on the newer systems, Tri/Chihiro and Lindbergh..

On a side note Rally 2 is more popular than Rally 3 and still making money in arcades.. Not bad for an old girl. 8-)

Makes sense, I suppose. Still, an arcade not too far from where I live has (or at least had) a Japanese machine, but I can't remember what it was. And I agree, Sega Rally 2 is much better than anything based on the Revo engine. I guess the one thing I liked about it was that it was a new Sega racer. The Dreamcast port of Sega Rally 2 was absolutely shocking however. I knew from the start that the Dreamcast had no hope of having decent ports of Model 3 games, just as there was no way the Saturn could handle Model 2 ports.

I personally loved Sega Rally Revo on 360, if anything it was gorgeous with its deep colors and juicy mud.

The game itself looked promising and had fantastic, vibrant Sega graphics, but the cars just felt sluggish and too heavy. The handling did not feel as precise and felt slow compared to previous games.

Is it true that the PC version is worse than the PS3 and 360's?

In terms of controller support, yes. I could never get the PC to work properly, as from what I remember, it doesn't even support any separate game controller, and doesn't even support any analog steering inputs except from an Xbox 360 pad.

It goes down as one of the worst PC ports in game history when it comes to controller support, trumped only by the mighty OutRun 2006 PC version.

LOL!

I am playing with sega rally revo in my 360 with official Forza 2 racing wheel(bought since 2008) and FFB is incredibly strong and feeling is very good, graphics are good in native 720p res!

But in my pc FFB is a little better with my G27 racing wheel, control are perfect and it is a real 1080p res,so graphics are better as far!

I have also Outrun 2006 on pc(no ffb,no vibration!),outrun arcade online 360/ps3 ...they are good but have not any FFB ,just a poor rumbling,it's too bad! :(

Rally 3 is a nice looking game, but the controls are god damn awful :(
