I played Daytona USA2 at the Game On exhibit!

Before all of the covid19 and lockdown stuff happened, I had the chance to go to the Game On Exhibit that is hel in Madrid. There, I had the chance to try all kinds of arcade cabinets from the old days, like my beloved OutRun with working force feedback (it was the upright version though. God I miss the full cabinet that was in my town when I was a kid...!), Ridge Racer, Donkey Kong, Asteroids... and Lo and Behold, there was a Daytona USA 2 cabinet as well, a dual one.
The left monitor was a tad darkened, but the machine was fully working with lighting view buttons and a surprisignly good forece feedback, the shifter was great too!

This was my first time playing in the actual machine, and given I had played it so many times via model 2 emulator, well, you can tell that I was the player with the upper hand there. I had a blast playing a duel with my brother in the Daytona track.

I hope we can get back to normal soon, as I would like to go back and take some pictures, maybe even record a video.

Awesome. Would definitely be interested in seeing some video of that. I played on an actual Daytona USA 2 cabinet once back in the day, during a trip to London (I think we'd gone there to watch Star Wars Episode 1). Can't even remember now if it was Power Edition or Battle on the Edge. There was a retro arcade pop up thing that happened in my home town in the UK last year. It was a lot of fun, but sadly not much of a Sega presence there. No Outrun or any Model 2 or 3 racers. There was a Power Drift upright though, something I'd never seen in the wild before.
