These current drivers, if I remember, no longer hav support for the HD 4xxx series, you will probably have to use the version 12.6, or you can try another alternative ...

do this:

# Download this new app from AMD to uninstall your current driver ...

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/ ... ility.aspx

# Install the program, do the procedure indicated by the app, you will need to restart your PC ...

# Download this custom version of the latest beta driver

See if that resolves the problem.

One good thing for those who love super sharp graphics...

Since the CCC 12.11b, it is now possible to use SSAA in openGL applications, even if the app is 64bit.

4x SSAA tested here and is amazing the image quality if compared to 8x MSAA. With MSAA, only the edges on the body of the cars appear to be smoother, with SSAA the smoothing is much larger, especially on the tracks and in the field of distance vision, almost none jaggies in the builds, the guard rails, even the textures appear more crisp.

But... this will eat a lot of the GPU performance, here, with an HD 6870 with 8xx Super Sample, the GPU use reachs the 75% mark.

That I'd like to try, but OGL still just draws a black screen in every app for me. Even done a full system wipe, to no avail. Think it just hates my card.

Wow! I was just about to make my first thread here but then used my sensible head to check for current threads. Didn't take long to find this monster :D

I have 13.4 installed and I'm getting really annoying texture issues with Spikeout and random slowdowns at the exact same spots, but other than that it's fine. I can run all other Emulators fine including M2 so I know it's not that the graphics card is underpowered (HD6770 DDR3). I'm going to try a few suggestions and get back. Going with 12.3 first!

Here's a quick snippet from my PC playing Spikeout with a Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 GDDR3 2GB:

I have the nospotlight.glsl enabled, and this was using 11.8 ATI drivers. I have also tried all versions up to 13.4 and still have bits of random lag and pixels missing. It tends to slow right down at parts where sometimes less things are being rendered so I don't think it's a performance issue, but rather more a graphics drivers issue.

Long story short, I'm considering getting this graphics card, and was wondering if anyone else has used it with Supermodel3 with good success?

It looks like it blows my current ATI card out of the water. Quick question, are GeForce cards a lot better in general for Supermodel3? I seem to remember seeing people recommend GeForce cards as you don't need to deal with the awful Catalyst suite.

I'm going to go for the 650Ti card I think. Wise choice? I was planning on collecting after work tonight so hopefully my post is moderated in time ;)

Ok, got a Geforce 650Ti in there and it didn't make much difference. At this point I knew that it must be something else that was causing the random texture issues and sluggish feel. It turns out that it was the PowerPC frequency. If I used the defaut of 25Mhz, it was slow, and also anything above 60Mhz was also very sluggish. The frame rate was very consistent, just felt like I was playing in slow motion.

Long story short, if I set it at 55Mhz it works perfectly and at full speed! I also got hold of a copy of 0.3a, wow! What a difference. The side borders no longer flashed and the random slowdowns at the exact same points in Spikeout now gone.

Hope this helps others.
