SweetFX is a post processor utility that allows you to use all kinds of different shader effects on your games and emulators. Has anyone here had any success in using it?

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=376265

I tried using it just now but it didn't appear to work.

It claims it needs a 32 bit application to work so I tried it on the 32bit version but no luck :(

I'll try again and see if I have any luck...

Thanks for the info

I have XP-64, hopefully the 64 bit release is soon and hopefully it works.

Doesn't matter what operating system you have, as long as the application/game/etc itself is 32bit, it *should* work. I've tried everything but no luck so far :(

I wonder if it's because I'm launching from a bat file? However, SweetFX doesn't allow you to add batch files only exe files. Still, upon launching the bat file for Daytona 2, it's suppose to activate the Supermodel.exe as a byproduct so I'm not sure why SweetFX is not working.

I suppose you've already tryed to link SweetFX to the original Supermodel.exe ?
Maybe Bart could help you by telling wich .exe Supermodel uses for the rendering...

Btw shouldn't this thread be in the "Fitting room" forum ? :p

yeah I am linking it to the "supermodel.exe" file. Tried launch games from the SM UI too but no luck.

Hey guys... unfortunately, SweetFX will not work with Supermodel, because the aplication doesnt have support for OpenGL, only works with native applications in DirectX.

Supermodel uses OpenGL, so we would need to use some kind of wrapper to translate the commands of OpenGL to DirectX.

It would be interesting, especially in respect to the fake HDR effect and tonemapping.

Sounds very interresting...
Of course it could break the excperience of playing the original arcade game on computer for the ones that want to recreate exactly the same thrill that they had years ago, but it could be interresting for the other to enhance the experience with this soft...

Ahhh, no wonder. Thanks for the clarification on that man. Well let's hope either Bart makes a DirectX version, or the guys at SweetFX make an OpenGL version. The cool thing is SweetFX has tons of cool shader effects. One of which is a CRT TV plugin that makes your PC monitor look like a true arcade monitor, complete with scanlines and phospher effect! I would LOVE to play Daytona 2 with an old arcade CRT monitor look!

There's more important work to do before, don't you agree ?

I don't remember havin seen scanlines on the 50" monitor of Daytona 2...
