Hi Bart
You ask people to donate and then you say that you are not going to work on Supermodel again until December!
I understand that you need a break but come on man, you don't need that long a break do you!

I appreciate the outpouring of support that I received, however. Donations were intended to be just that: donations, not payments in exchange for services. Supermodel remains free and donations are certainly not required; nor would a lack of donations jeopardize the project. I'm a final year PhD student and have additional personal matters and projects to tend to. So yes, I really am that busy.

Birdman, what Mr Thunderwing said is true. No matter your reply, your original post highlight that you have ignored or chosen "not to believe" the important points in Bart's Donation News Post. Those important points are 1) "Some folks have expressed interest in donating to the Supermodel project, and 2) "If you feel like helping..." To make it worse, you post really demonstrate a strong display of ignorance and lack of consideration:
"come on man, you don't need that long a break do you!"
Making a donation is clearly highlighted as optional from the get-go and it doesn't imply that it's a donation to pay for the service, i.e. it's "your choice" to contribute if you really want to. If you really didn't believe Bart's comment about the people expressing interest for donation, then perhaps you should have researched on this very forum before making your post. It's certainly wouldn't have taken that long considering this forum is fairly new. Also, it's really sad to see that your very first post here is one that criticized Bart!
I'm sorry that my post appears to be grilling you, but let's be clear and understanding on all accounts: We waited over 17 years for something that SHOULD have been done by SEGA themselves eons ago, but it was NEVER done and you know this very well as you've been waiting since 1999. If SEGA was so smart, we could have received games like SCUD RACE from DREAMCAST launch, which was the period when it really counted for them to generate massive revenues, but instead it was a tech demo for "behind-closed-doors" promo.
The fact of the matter is this, if it weren't for super talented and non-selfish people like Bart, whom was bothered to spend their OWN TIME working on something that they love and decided to share to the world, there would be no way in heck that any of us would be playing these incredible games today. Honestly, do you want to wait for MAME to get it right? Or are you thinking that because SEGA finally released the perfect version of Daytona USA after 6 times trying and 18 years of waiting, they would now move onto Model 3 very quickly? The answer is "no" and it's worth pointing out that the DAYTONA USA was converted out of convenience due to SEGA Racing Classics.
So please, let's really be grateful and more supportive for Bart and co for their work, and remember that it doesn't cost you anything to be considerate and show appreciation. Whether Bart and co realise it or not, there is actually millions of people out there, who are silent, that are super excited and waiting for Bart and co to perform their talent. The worse thing to happen is what Mr Thunderwing said perfectly; is for Bart and co to get super pissed off and stressed due to people making ill-comments and questions like you did. Trust me, it is easy for Bart and co to say, "FU*K IT! I DON'T NEED TO SPEND MY TIME MAKING THIS FOR OTHER PEOPLE! I'll just continue what is important to me and when I do have time I'll just make it for myself and keep it on my PC!" And you know what? No one will blame them.
