Daytona USA 2 BOTE - 500 mile crashes.

I've recently gotten a PC that can finally run emulators, and of course one of the first things I had to try out was Daytona USA 2. It runs flawlessly outside of a slowdown when drifting on the sharp turn on the beginner course when surrounded by cars, and when trying to play the endurance modes. In the endurance modes the game tents to just outright crash around the 10th or so lap. Is this a known issue or is there something on my end I can do to remedy this?
While on the topic, I'd also like to know what the 'motor power' setting entails in the service menu. Cheers for all the hard work that has been put into this emulator, I hope to sink plenty of time into it!

Can you make a save state just before the crash point?

That combined with the smoke from the tyres during a drift seems to be a ripe situation to crash it. Or do you mean make a savestate right as the game pauses for a second before it closes itself? I can try, but that would be very tough.
EDIT: For some more details, this happens ONLY on endurance races, so 100 mile - 500 mile modes, with the gas and tyre wear huds and the like. So far I have not had the game crash in any of the other modes.
EDIT 2: I have made a savestate one lap before crash, but it isn't exactly reliable, I will keep trying. I have also just discovered this game uses a safety car, and during the safety lap the game crashed going around that aforementioned bend on beginner course. It only seems to happen on that turn.

set the PowerPCFrequency=100 and check ..

Gold star for you, thanks. Not sure why I didn't try that sooner, I read somewhere it had a habit of causing issues in some games when cranked too high.
