mouse support *PLEASE HELP*

Postby zabrak » Sun Mar 11, 2012 3:21 am

so I'm using the sega model 3 emulator, however it seems like it doesn't have mouse support. Tested both the star wars arcade trilogy and the lost world of jurassic park - both games have the targeting reticle centered in the middle of the screen. I can fire and press other buttons, though I can't move the mouse at all. Know what's going on here? Any patch or whatever that allows mouse movement? I'd rather not buy a joystick

Hi zabrak,

Supermodel does have mouse support, obviously. There's no "patch" needed, it's most likely something to do with your configuration.

We need a bit more info in order to be able to help you:

- Are you running on Windows, Linux or Mac?

- If running on Windows are you using DirectInput or RawInput? If you've not played around with this setting then it will be DirectInput (the default).

- Do you have any other controllers (joysticks/lightguns/other mice) connected that might be interfering with the mouse movement?

- Have you tried reconfiguring Supermodel with the config-inputs command line option (see the README.txt file for more info how to use this)?

Lastly, please will you post your Supermodel.ini configuration file.

Thanks, Nik.

In addition to those suggestions, I wonder if zabrak might have a non-standard configuration such as multiple mice (e.g., a laptop touch pad plus external mouse appearing as mouse #2). Run Supermodel with '-print-inputs' and then paste the 'Input System Settings' here.

Code: Select all
supermodel -print-inputs

Mine says:

Code: Select all
...

Input System Settings
---------------------

Input System: DirectInput

Keyboards:
 System Keyboard
Mice:
 System Mouse
Joysticks:
1: XBOX 360 For Windows (Controller)
