In the team selection screen:
Go to Japan press start, diagonally right-down press start, down press start, left press start, right press start, right start, diagonally left-down start, and finally down to Russia to press start three times. If done correctly a challenger sound will be heard, then press three buttons to select MVP Yuki-chan.

If you aren't able to do it use -ppc-frequency with a low value (that'll give you more time). When you get it make a save state. Then execute the emulator with -ppc-frequency at your favourite value and load the save state you made.

As a curiosity MVP Yuki Chan is actually Russia disguised (they don't have own flag, it's Russia's). If you get best goal with them after the end of the game in best goal sequence you'll watch normal players (the russians) and not MVP Yuki Chan.

This (hear challenger comes but not get MVP Yuki Chan) happened me too in the congratulations screen if you make the trick to play against them instead of FC Sega... (Have you tried to push only one button after the "challenger comes" sound as if you were selecting Russia's usual kit? I don't remember if I pushed all three buttons or only one...
