I've updated the SVN with the new JTAG patch and a few other minor changes; Sega Rally 2 should now be fully working in linked mode. :D

Among the minor changes include new ReadIORegister() and WriteIORegister() functions that make mainboard writes to the netboard IO registers tidier.

If anyone does experience any random crashes, please let me know.

I logged the frame writes using the new jtag code and it's much better. The game throttles itself as it should. But a few of the writes actually leak into the next frame. So it's still possible it might crash, at 50mhz anyway.

As stupid as it sounds we never figured out exactly how a frame draw is triggered on the model 3. It writes to the gpu. We want to start drawing when it's finished writing, but exactly what signifies it's finished writing data I'm not sure. It's something to do with writing 0x88 to the gpu and 0xc to the tilegen register.

Hi matthew,

here SR2 LAN is not working, other LAN games with the same configuration works perfect (Daytona 2, Spikeout, ecc...).

My PCs ip address are:

192.168.1.108
192.168.1.121

I'm using a modem router (with lan cable, not WiFi).

What could be the problem? Maybe i have too high ip?

Thanks!

You have to update Games.xml in the config folder to get Sega Rally 2 to work in linked mode.

Sega Rally 2 requires a ROM patch to run because it performs a few JTAG tests and Supermodel doesn't emulate JTAG properly yet. The previous version of the patch bypassed the tests but ended up breaking linked mode in the process; the newer patch ensures linked mode works properly.

We will test the spikeout 3 players internet linked play in v864 tonight and report the result later on.

Thank you for your great effort on the new version.
