Problem speed with the games - SVN 857

Postby Joaquim Gonçalves » Tue Mar 16, 2021 7:30 am

Well, i had a lot of problems with this games, maybe everyone is having the same situation for example...

Daytona USA 2 - BOTE appears a few slowdowns, it speeds normal to 60 fps and goes back to 47.6 fps and etc... i'm not a calibrated expert. :)
Looking at without FullScreen on.
Daytona USA 2 - The same, but more speedy.

Virtua Striker 2 1.5 runs toooo fast - i don´t know why.

Tested the newest addition of Virtua Strikers, i can play well, but suddently occur a few slowdowns ingame, and it's annoying.

And i think all games are not calibrated as we can see, even i tested UI from Nuexzz and Emuloader...

Nuexzz PowerPCFrequency is 49.
Emuloader PowerPCFrequency is 50 as default.

Options Added.

Quad
GPU
Multi Threaded
Multi Threaded
WideScreen
Show Frame Rate

And... with WideBackground on or off, the problem still continues...

I'm using the New 3D Engine and the screen is 1920x1080

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 the same as Bart have. :)

I believe each System Board have different Power PC speed.
In System 16 website say it all.

SEGA MODEL 3 STEP 1.0 HARDWARE - Main CPU : 32bits RISC PowerPC 603 66Mhz
SEGA MODEL 3 STEP 1.5 HARDWARE - Main CPU : 32bits RISC PowerPC 603 100Mhz
SEGA MODEL 3 STEP 2.0 HARDWARE - Main CPU : 32bits RISC PowerPC 603ev 166Mhz
SEGA MODEL 3 STEP 2.1 HARDWARE - Main CPU : 32bits RISC PowerPC 603ev 166Mhz

The PowerPCFrequency it doesn´t help, because each game need a correct speed. (Or maybe i'm wrong, but everytime i choose a game i need to calibrate it)

Still missing information in the games list, to see what games run 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.1. A few don´t have and it looks empty and others with a exclamation point. All info here: http://www.system16.com/museum.php?id=1 please update and nuexzz UI list too.

Please Help. Glup...
No Rush, no Speedy, i know you guys have life. ;)

Does your PC have a onboard or a Dedicated GPU? I know enabling Quad rendering needs a beefy GPU. My previous GPU I installed slow down quite a bit with some games during heavy moments like L.A Machine guns slows down occur when explosives happen. If you have intergreated graphics, I wouldn't rely on it too much. With the New Engine I realize is not the CPU, mostly is GPU heavy correct me if I'm wrong. I suggest you investing a dedicated graphics card. You'll see the difference. I noticed the games run better thanks to my GTX 1060, I was able to get more juice from the card itself. You CPU seems older which I can tell. You have four cores so you should be fine.

I've got a few questions for example
How much RAM does your PC have?
What's your GPU?
Is there anything else taxing your CPU?
Are your GPU drivers up to date?
What OS you're running?
Ferraris are the most prestigious cars ever made in my opinion. There very delicate and pristine☺️.

12,0 GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 - I won´t buy a nother, because i bought this one forced when i lose the older one. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/a ... ii-oc.b448
I have to update the driver today.
Windows 10 64-Bit
And i think is dedicated.
Only i had problems since Supermodel 3 as been released for download in the website.
When i stop compile it, i grab from here.
Even after i compile it, the problem still the same.

You got it dude, it was the nvidia graphic driver need to be updated, i just put it and now the new games and the older one's runs faaaaaast with 50 default. LOL. Now i need to put pack in window mode and find the perfect calibration of the emulator. ;)

79 i believe?

If i change to 78 the game have slowdowns and with 79 goes back to normal and have less slowdowns? Is there a bug on the UI or it's the emulator?
I have no slowdowns on 50, but looks crazy playing like that. I want the original speed like model2emulator.

I usually set my power PC frequency up to 100 MHz. I think it's because your processor has a slight lower clock speed and your CPU is older. I have a haswell I5 processor which is clocked at 3.4 GHz which is capable of running 100 MHz. I'm glad the problem is solved with the graphics driver. There's actually a feature that where you can set your own games settings. A max frame rate feature that's added in the latest drivers. You can set the games limit refresh rate. I set mine to 57 FPS just so it can match the Model 3's FPS

57 runs smooth on my computer, but a few 10 or 15 secounds the slowdown appears, and goes back to normal. I try Legacy as well, is the same, i still believe this is a bug from the emulator, or Microsoft is f* all this over the computers. I really Hate Windows 10 for so long, and i can´t change it. First of all, they don´t stop updating, they f* one HD disk i have here, the usb can´t read it, i try everything, it doesn´t detect anything on all options, i still ask for help on facebook, i hope someone solves me this. I just buy a mitsai hdd enclosure to fix the WD disk, i format the dam disk, i put files on it, but the driver just turns off without my permission, the drivers can´t shut when i want it, they tell me they are still open. F* Jesus for this operation system.

Note: I'm running CXBX Reloaded and i don´t have this kind of slowdowns.

I don't think a 1MHz difference in the emulated clock speed is going to have any noticeable impact. It's possible that the slowdowns you are seeing are random occurrences caused by something else on your computer.

I think we are long overdue for changing the default PowerPCFrequency option based on game stepping. I am leaning toward doing one of the following:

1. Step 1.0 = 66, Step 1.5 and 2.x = 100
2. Step 1.0 = 66, Step 1.5 = 100, Step 2.x = 166

The latter is technically correct. It may cause performance problems on older computers but I think those people can adjust downward on their own in Supermodel.ini.

Thanks Bart. This numbers help a little, but sometimes i got slowdowns. I didn´t have slowdowns in the first or secound race, in the third i got one, but was long for 10 or 20 secounds, and goes back to normal. I still don´t know what it is. I already turn off everything, even being offline. I need to find a tool to check what it causes slowdowns when i play it.

EDIT: No more slowdowns anymore, i just remember to use the DDU tool and i remove the Intel Driver and that just fixed my problem again.
I was very busy this months worried about other things. ;)
