GeForce GTX 260... any good?

Postby GambitRogue777 » Sat Nov 26, 2011 7:41 pm

Who here is running Supermodel on a GeForce GTX 260 GPU? I've seen a vid. of someone playing DUSA2 on it in full speed. But will it run the games that can't fully utilize the underclocked Power PC (like Fighting Vipers 2 and Virtua Striker 2)?

I'm thinking of an upgrade to an Asus G51 model for Christmas that has that GPU because it's pretty cheap (will also upgrade CPU to C2D X9100).

Also, is it true that the next version of Supermodel will be utilizing the CPU cores?

FV2 and VS2 run slow because of emulation inaccuracies (timing problems, to be precise). It has nothing to do with your CPU or GPU.

I see. However, I've seen videos of DUSA2 running slower, but the DSB sound is not lagging at all.

The audio code runs in a separate thread independently of the CPU and graphics emulation. The frame rate can get very low before the sound starts to stutter.
