Bart, Ian,
This last is a recording of the actual hardware, I have noticed a lack of flash on the screen during the thunders in the last stage. (In the old engine I think
it's right)
Was this known for a future bug repair?

Can you make a save state? Plus some comparison screenshots to real h/w?
Currently I can't even get that far into the game lol

Here a SaveState: https://mega.nz/#!99BGkIYC!HNCd6mYU4M6v ... uSfpq_hoeQ

I'm confused, the flash during the rays appear in the first person view, also in the emulation, but I think sometimes those flash do not appear ...
In the actual hardware, those flash also appear during the third person view, but not in Supermodel.

Here a gameplay, in the last stage of the actual hardware, flash appear durin third person view (VAN VIEW):

EDIT: Ian, I do not have this game on the actual hardware...

this is where i stop,no room for improvement left with the celica + third person view
it took one of the japanese players 22 months to get 3:58 with the peugeot
so,after 3 weeks of intense training,i consider this a good result
will upload the video at some point in the future, very nice run

Does anyone know if there are a list with all records driven in Daytona 1,2 Scud Race all Tracks?
I play those games so often and I'd love to get some reference to compare my progress.
No Tome attack. Regular mode in normal setup. Beginner 8 rounds advanced 4 and expert 2

Kind regards

Team Marubaku are an elite Japanese team of gamers that specialize in arcade racing games. They have some seriously quick times for Daytona 1 & 2 and Scud Race, among others. You can check out their times on this page. They've also uploaded videos of a few of their times to their YouTube channel here.

Be warned: these times are incredibly hard to beat. I consider myself a very good player but I am no match for these guys.

I've been getting to grips with the newly discovered secret Hornet in Daytona USA 2: Battle on the edge

Also, did you know, by changing the port-in and port-out settings to the same value (I set them both to 1970) and keeping the network option on in the game's config ini. file you can get a single system network running? This mean you can try out the different multiplayer colours for the different cars in both versions of Daytona USA 2. You need to change the game to 'Master' in the test menu, then just assign whatever car number you want to play as. You still need to use the 'no-threads' option to get it working though and my PC isn't quite able to run Supermodel full speed in single core mode, so gameplay and audio's a bit stuttery for me, but I've seen it running full speed like this on better hardware than mine.

If you use this same technique on Scud Race, you'll get the car's multiplayer colours coming up in the attract mode (for whatever cabinet number you set it to), but when you start a game, you'll be playing in the regular P1 colours. interestingly though, on the car select and stage select screens, you get the different multiplayer music, rather than the standard single player music.

I must admit, I can't take any of the credit for discovering it, I saw it being used on one of someone else's YouTube videos and someone else asked how they did it in the comments. Man, I wish I could just squeeze a couple of extra drops of performance out of my PC in -no-threads mode to stop the audio jitter...

Just tried it. Scud Race works but dayto2pe hangs at "This is master controller".

EDIT: Didn't realize -no-threads was required if net play was enabled (I thought enabling net play in the config file would automatically force that). It works.

Just coming back to Scud Race after a 9 month racing game hiatus. Yup, nothing's changed....still the hardest game on the planet  Can't come to grips with the handling of these cars to save my life. They're just so prone to spinning out. Letting off the gas and trying to successfully hold a slide with pulling a 360 is still an exercise in trial and error. Any tips for getting around the corners of these tracks without slipping and sliding all over the place? Do you guys use the brake to take corners at all?
