Are these the 2016 Celeron models? I would give it a try and see. It should run although it may not perform well. You can try falling back to the legacy engine, which reduces graphical accuracy but runs better on low end hardware.
One of my computers has similar specs: Celeron 2957U@1.4Mhz, Intel HD i915, 4 Gb, Kubuntu 20.04 I made a test yesterday with Daytona 2 (in case Network gaming is coming ): --> Garbage with new3D --> Seems to work perfectly with legacy3D.

Keep graphics resolution as low as possible, use the old graphics engine (legacy) but you'll get more glitches in some games. Also, try lowering the powerpc emulated cpu speed with games that run well with a low setting (scud race for example).
also turn off the music (which improve fps) and always choose "time lap" (by holding start botton in the gear(?) selection sreen. also try to run it in full screen.
