Having Problems with SuperModel 2A

Postby UsualSuspekt » Sat May 12, 2012 8:18 pm

Hey everyone,

Long time listener. First time caller. Just found out about this amazing piece of software today. I downloaded the latest version for Mac. I am running 10.7.4 Lion on an Intel Core Duo 2 MBP. I followed the instructions and downloaded the SDL Framework and placed it into the respective folder. When I boot a rom, I am getting a flickering screen and less than 40fps. No idea how to fix this. Any solutions?

That's strange. What sort of video hardware are you running? From the command prompt, try issuing the following command and report the output here:

Code: Select all
./supermodel -print-gl-info

I kind of gave up on it. I have a Bootcamp partition and I found a Supermodel UI for Windows and everything seems to work well for the moment. I wish it worked on Mac but I am happy it works somewhere. Thanks for buzzing in.

That's strange. If it works under Windows, it should work under Mac OS. Unfortunately, neither I nor Nik have a Mac to test on and neither of us have ever written any OpenGL or SDL code for Mac OS specifically. Does the problem persist in full screen mode? I'm glad you are at least able to run it on Windows.

It does work in Full Screen mode but does not appear to work in any Windowed mode for the Mac. However, on Windows it works on either. Thanks for the help. I am resigned to using Windows which isn't a huge deal breaker. everything works flawlessly except for Star Wars, the controls for the light saber sequences appear to be backwards when selecting up or down in battle. Yet, for the rest of the game it is not a problem. Thanks again.
