Help me configure inputs please

OK, think I worked out how to remap..after configuration I pressed "S".....it said "setting" I turned the wheel ...then it mapped the setting. Same with gas pedal. pressed "Q" to save

Ini file shows setting changed....but controls still remain as if nothing has been recalibrated or mapped

Then you must be launching Supermodel from a different directory. Launch it the same way you launch the configuration dialog.

Bart, you're a genius!!

That was the issue. Checked the MAME.CMD file, and found out it was pointing to a different folder (couldn't even remember making this a seperate folder).

Anyway, I now have Steering, Gas & Brake working

My last problem is the Gears and VR buttons. They work from the keyboard, and appear to be assigned correctly in the ini file, but the still respond as if they are set as the default settings (Gears change VR, and VR do nothing)

All sorted.

Turns out I needed to remap them the same as Model 2 was mapped

Gears "ASDF"
VR Buttons "ZXCV"

I think this was because the UHID was mapped that way.

After making specific changes to my supermodel.ini file, why does my supermodel.ini file reset to the default settings after I play one game? I’m making the changes using '-config-inputs' via the Command Prompt app, making sure I have the blank window selected when entering inputs (even though directions continue to be printed to the console window) – I press "Q" to save. & it then says something like...settings saved to ini file....error, "no rom selected", but if I then look in the supermodel.ini file everything is saved fine. All changes look when I play the first game but once I quit out of the game, the changes vanish and the supermodel.ini file is back to how it was before the changes. Can someone please tell me why this is happening. Thanks.
