Are current frontends compatible with Supermodel v0.2a?

Postby SuperSZ » Sat Sep 24, 2011 9:28 pm

First of all I have to thank you for developing this emulator. SEGA Model 3 has some of the greatest classic games of all times, and it was mindblowing that none of those games could be played outside an arcade (What's up with SEGA, are they f****** crazy? they should have released all these games to xbox live and PSN YEARS AGO ... and they still haven't done it -_- ) , but now thanks to you they can :)

Now, my question is what the title says: if the frontends that were made for previous versions (for example XTASSY FE ) are compatible with this one.

I would test it out by myself but I'm not at home right now, and I'm using a PC with a 1.8 Ghz proccessor and less than 512MB of RAM at this moment, so it would be pointless to even download the emulator

Hallo.

Hyperspin (www.hyperspin-fe.com) is a very adaptive FE. I´ve just configured supermodel under it. It works like a charm.

Good luck!

The old front ends will work fine but will not be able to take advantage of the new (mostly audio-related) options. For the average user, that won't be a problem. The most important audio-related options are the volume settings, and those can be adjusted in-game using the F9-F12 keys. Input configuration is important and I'm not sure to what extent the existing front ends support this...

Groni has a new version of his excellent front end ready. I'm sure he will post a link here...

I will post the link here when the Version is ready. I still have some adjustments to make to make it more comfortable.

The new FE will support all of the new Options of Supermodel with a nice simple to control GUI. So you don´t need to
write around in commandlines or creating BAT Files for every game. The FE have its own Launch System which makes
the Games easy to run.

I have a cabinet running GameEX and now have version 0.2a set up in my cab. Works just as well as MAME.

Will have to adjust settings though, VF3 is running very fast when I play.

Emu Loader does support it. not the new options for v0.2a but it works.
problem is, it depends on a working MAME games list as Supermodel doesn't have a ROMs list output feature like MAME or a ClrMAME xml .dat file.
