Sammy Atomoswave games ported to the Dreamcast

Postby ferrarifan » Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:28 pm

So recently I seen a video by Sega Lord X and he posted a video that you can play Sammy Atomoswave games on your Dreamcast for free. This is really a great addition to a 6th generation short-lived console that's no longer in production and is great that people in the Dreamcast modding scene Is making something that's brought new to the table for the Sega Dreamcast. I realize that many of these games were ported to the Dreamcast but there are some out there or arcade only titles that never left the arcade. But it's great to see these games can be played on your Sega Dreamcast because I realize that the Atomoswave hardware shares the same architecture as the Dreamcast. Now I know this is not Sega Model 3 related so I know because I'm kind of off topic  . I just want to share the good news to all the Sega and Sammy fans out there. Keep dreaming. Happy 60th anniversary for SEGA. I still own a Dreamcast but, maybe I'll give it a try

I'd never played Dolphin Blue or Knights of Valour before and they're actually really great games. Even better to play them for the first time on Dreamcast in 2020! I also like Faster Than Speed as a big arcade racing fan.

Beware that there are bugs in one or two of the games though.

Thanks for the link. I'm happy that this is happening. I really wanted to give this a go but, I actually play the Atomoswave games on Demul on my PC

Same for me, but I own a Dreamcast with a GDEMU, connected up via an OSSC so I couldn't resist trying them all out on 'native' hardware :)

Likewise, I've been able to play these for years on my PC. It's still cool to see this stuff get ported to the DC though. Now, if someone were able to figure out how to get the Hikaru version of Star Wars Racer working on a Dreamcast, with a little plug and play upgrade, that would be amazing.
