Opengl 2.x problem

Postby sureshot25 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 6:09 pm

First time here, hopefully someone here can help me out. I recently learned that the Star Wars Trilogy Arcade game can work with Supermodel emulator, however I get the following message when I try to run it:

Error: OpenGL 2.x does not appear to be present. Unable to proceed.

Here's my system specs/info:

Windows Vista 64-Bit upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Rating: 5.9 Windows Experience Index
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 9.00 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system

Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)

I think that should be it. If I'm missing anything let me know.

You need to upgrade your Nvidia drivers. You appear to be using Windows default drivers. Microsoft has stubbornly refused to update the OpenGL Windows ABI beyond Version 1.1, which has been obsolete since the 90's.

How do I go about updating them? I've never done so before.

Works like a charm, thank you! I was nervous I had to buy another video card or something.

Edit: Last question, how do I invert my joystick? For the SWTAG if I go up the cursor goes down, I hate that. Any way I can reverse it back to normal? In my other (non Supermodel) games that use a joystick its fine.

Can I also use a mouse? The crosshairs show up, I can fire but I can't move them. Only if I press other buttons. I'm using a desktop computer btw.

Try searching the forum or studying README.txt. There are countless posts here addressing these issues.

I have but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Do I do it through the 'Run' command? What/where do I type? I'm not quite computer advanced.

Edit: Nevermind I got the config command running. I'll see if I can mess with it. Thanks.

Edit 2: All set, I tried unplugging my joystick and it worked.

By default, the analog joystick used by Star Wars is mapped to both the mouse and, I think, joystick #1. Interference between devices is the most common cause of the kinds of problems you're experiencing. As for inverting the axes, if you still want to do that, that is described in the README.txt file.
