Make sure that the 3D graphics appear in the attract mode before coining up to start a game. Wait for Darth Vader to appear, in other words. This is a known problem.

Super old thread but a workaround I found in case anyone else stumbles upon this looking for a fix is to clear the nvram so you have 0 credits and then set the nvram as read only. It wont track high scores but prevents the black screen if you accidentally leave credits in.

I feel stupid asking this but is there any way you might walk me through on how to do this correctly? Many Thanks!

Alt-N clears NVRAM. Then you could exit and make the file read-only. In Windows, you would right click and go to Properties...

@Bart Thank you! I am clearly an amateur but do I open the NVRAM file and hit Alt-N? Then save the file and follow your instructions to make Read Only?

No, when running Supermodel press Alt-N. Then when you're done playing, in Windows File Explorer, right click on the file and go to Properties to make it read only.

Thank you for this. So... if I may, when I did, this the game now keeps telling me to disable feedback lever. Is there something else I should do and or did incorrectly. I would really love to fine tune this. I am not sure if you got my DM but I was asking if there was a way I could communicate with you on this directly so I might be able to ask you how to fine tune this a bit more. My son who is autistic loves this game and its hard on him when it doesn't work perfectly. Thank you so much! We would compensate you if need be too! We live on Maui so right now there is a two hour time difference. Aloha!
