You'll have to run it without the front end to get at the error message.

Hi bart!
I did it but it's the same issue than with the loader and i don't have any error message in supermodel...
But a message error from windows at the right botom of my screen says : driver did not responding...

I think it's seven 64bits but or something or not??

Why my old drivers 11.8 whql from amd site works very good with supermodel or not with this new 11.10??

Thank you bart!

I have no idea. Try both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Make sure to use the correct SDL.dll with each one (they are incompatible). But to be honest, it looks like you already know the cause of the problem: the ATI drivers messed things up.

I have this error in rom folder:

Supermodel v0.2a Error Log
--------------------------

Started as:
argv[0] = C:\Users\user\Desktop\Supermodel_0.2a_Win64\Supermodel.exe
argv[1] = C:\Users\user\Desktop\Supermodel_0.2a_Win64\roms\lemans24.zip

Supermodel don't reponding...

May be an amd driver bug with OGL applications!

It's too bad,it's a hard dilemme ,BF3 or supermodel?? :cry:

I don't know what to say. Supermodel is one of the simplest OpenGL applications around. It doesn't do anything weird. It could be a problem with SDL.

ATI's OpenGL stack has historically been bad. If you have an OpenGL program that acts substantially different from one of John Carmack's OpenGL-based game engines it's 50/50 at best that it'll work properly (I've personally blue-screened one old version of Catalyst using an unmodified NeHe tutorial). Carmack's latest game RAGE destroyed their code so badly that they're actually porting the Linux open source MesaGL-based stack to Windows, and trying to contain the damage in the meantime (which is probably what killed Supermodel).

Thanks for that info, RB. ATI has been in business for a long time. I'm very surprised they can't get their act together with respect to software. This has been a persistent problem for them for about a decade now, if I remember correctly. It's not as if 3D graphics is that competitive of an industry -- the only other big players are Nvidia, Intel, and the PowerVR guys on the embedded side. Each should have more than adequate access to competent software engineers.

Wow....it's a good thing I decided to read this thread first. I'm not sure if I will download the latest ATI drivers. I will wait until the official release. Once the official release is out and if it screws up Supermodel I sweat Im gonna be pissed! :evil:

Alas, coming back to Supermodel after a short break, and after updating to ATI's 11.11 drivers, I've discovered 11.11 drivers is causing graphical glitches in Daytona 2 Advance and Expert courses. Argh...silly ATI. I can't wait til nVidia's next gpu rolls off the assembly line. Anyone know a good work around for this?
