Star Wars Trilogy Arcade Controls Fully Functioning

Hi there everyone. Just created an account to relay this good news!

So a friend of mine on YouTube has somehow cracked the code to getting the controls for Star Wars Trilogy Arcade in Supermodel to work properly during both the shooting mode and the Lightsaber battles!
I just defeated Boba Fett and Darth Vader for the first time since 2002!

It's a simple process.

Simply edit Supermodel.ini to

InputAnalogJoyX = "MOUSE_XAXIS_INV"
InputAnalogJoyY = "MOUSE_YAXIS_INV"

Then start the game and enter Test Mode, then choose Calibration Test and change the lever setting to: up -> down, down -> up

Finally, and this is the most important step, now back out of Calibration Test and go to Game Assignments.
From there, change the Cabinet Type to "U/R"

DONE! Enjoy the full game where Up means Up and Down means Down the entire time!

:D

I tried star wars on a real arcade, and the joy stick inversion made it almost unplayable for me :(

Hi, what has been cracked exactly? I'm asking because I had finished several times the game without touching Supermodel control's code. I didnt't even inverted the axis direction in the configuration. I just set the inversion in the game's test mode and also calibrated my joypad there.

The cabinet type just enable or disables the force feedback code.

Daryl has found a way to make the light saber scene controls non-inverted from inside the game, without having to change the Supermodel config.

I might have to give this a try.... But aren't the Lightsaber controls inverted in the arcade version. If so, I doubt I'd want to alter it. Also, it's not too difficult to defeat Fett and Vader anyhow. Nice work though!

I saw the controls of the original Arcade on youtube and the controls have Y axxis inverted for the whole game except for the lightsaber duels.

Inverting the Y axxis on spaceship games is something pretty common. Just a matter of getting used to it while playing.

So sorry for the late reply guys. I forgot to enable email replies.

You could set the correct controls in the INI file, but once you got to the lightsaber fights, the controls were always inverted.

However, by setting the cabinet type to U/R in test mode, the entire game including lightsaber fights now respond to the correct controls. No more inversion!

Yes that is known. But my point is that Supermodel inverts the lightsaber battles. Making the levels unplayable. This fixes all of that.

Are email replies working for you? I can't get emails to work for me and I'm the freaking admin! :oops:
