Cant get start button to work

Forgive me for being a noob however I have just started using the emulator.
I am using a Xbox One Controller and the Supermodel UI. I simply cannot configure the start button. Everything else works, coin input etc. It doesnt matter what I set start to, nothing responds.
Any ideas?
