Is there a region code for Virtual On? I have not seen it mentioned yet.

I can't change the region in vs298 either.

Should the cursor move after each press? i.e. five times? Will the cursor move to the COUNTRY row while still holding the service button the fifth time or when it's released? How long the keys should be pressed? Since the game runs slow I tried holding the key for up to 60 s instead of 5 s.

The code is for Virtua Striker 2 and maybe Virtua Striker 2'98 Step 1.5 version, on the Step 2 the region is controlled by eproms.

I tried pressing keys 5 and 6 (service and test) in daytona 2's test mode to change the region but it did nothing. What am I doing wrong ?

You can start by reading the first post in this thread, Professor ;)

I read the first post before trying, and I did what is mentioned :

DAYTONA USA 2: BATTLE ON THE EDGE and POWER EDITION (Model 3 Step 2)
Method 1
Go into the test mode and push the service and test button on the PCB at the same time.

I entered service mode with 6, then pressed 5 and 6 at the same time. Unless they don't correspond to the service and test buttons found on the original pcb ?

That does not work on all ROM sets, evidently, including the one that is dumped. There is a second method, which will work. Use that one.

Bart, on the real hardware, both tricks on Daytona 2 work on ALL versions..

So it's odd, it's like the test/service emulated are not the same as the ones on the CPU board - I believe it works on MAME using the PC test/service, not the I/O test/service - they are different memory I/O range IIRC.
