Star Wars Trilogy Control panel

Postby FunBobby » Tue Jan 21, 2020 9:22 am

Hey Guys,

I'm putting together a dedicated Star Wars cabinet. My game room consists mainly of arcade games with sentimental meaning, and both the 1983 Star Wars, and Star Wars Trilogy are up there at the top. I'm thinking about control panels. Obviously there will be an analog stick/trigger. My main question is about the two event buttons that were on the original Trilogy arcade game. I've read some conflicting info on how SuperModel/Trilogy treats these buttons. Is there a distinction between button 1 and button 2? Or are they both the same to SuperModel? Two large event buttons give more of the original look, but do they serve any other purpose?

Full disclosure - I've worked with mame for years, but I am a complete SuperModel newbie.

Thanks!
Bobby

You could add Star Wars Battlepod in there too, now it's working in Teknoparrot. Can't answer your question I'm afraid, but I'd add the extra button in myself. If the game doesn't use the extra one, then at least you've got a spare to exit to whatever front end you're using or some additional function. Did you know there's an Arcade 1UP Star Wars Cabinet? It looks pretty awesome

Thanks! I’ll check Battlepod out for sure. Since I’m dedicating an entire cabinet it would be cool to include more games. I’m having some graphics made now. Not an exact copy of any certain arcade cabinet, just Star Wars themed. Yep, I saw the Arcade1up cab (haven’t seen one in person yet) - I was really curious about the flight yoke but looks like they’ve made a pretty good reproduction of the original.
