OK to post nvram files?

Postby BadMouth » Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:52 pm

I'm probably going to do a writeup for driving games on Supermodel over on BYOAC.

I was thinking about attaching my nvram files to save people the trouble of going through the crazy process of changing the region.

Do the nvram files contain anything that isn't ok freely redistribute?
(In other words, would be akin to posting roms?)

It could be argued that they do, but then again, so could screen shots. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. It should be safe to post them. If Sega feels otherwise they would probably let you know :) FWIW, I would not object to NVRAM files or save states (which do contain portions of the program ROM that are copied to RAM) being posted/linked on the forum.
