The top guys seem to do a 4-2-4 which takes them around about 20 MPH faster, but whenever I try this the back end of the car seems to swing out and collide with the wall.
What they are doing (and i dont know how to do it) is some kinda jerking drift technique with the street that pushes their car away from the wall but still gaining speed.. their Sonic 3 drifts are 195 past sonic and going back to 200 afterwards... where is mines is 185 going into 190 doing the 4-1-4.. whats your name on PSN by the way?
Yeah, I've noticed on the top replays some guys seem to drive just slightly to the the right of the middle of the track then just before entering the drift on the Sonic wall they swing out right a bit first before doing the hard left 195mph 4-2-4 drift. You're right about the pit lane shortcut being insanely difficult. I've managed to do it perfectly a couple of times, but no way can I do it consistently for 8 laps - I've tried, but after cocking it up for about the 15th time the game just starts to seem more frustrating than fun which is when I think it's time to just take a deep breath and call it a day (before the Joypad ends up getting thrown through the TV screen). Fair play on your 2'20 without doing the pit lane shortcut though, pretty impressive. My PSN name is the same as my username on here so maybe our paths may cross online... (don't be offended if I don't add you to my PSN friend list though, I've only got people that I know in real life on it

Here among 4-Gear, use brake, put 2Gear, and accelerate but now with gas shocks. The only way to improve is to practice and see for yourself how the car acts.
I got a new records in Daytona1 (2'15"60) and I placed eighth in the ranking.
Cheers Abelardo, guess like you say the best way is to keep on practicing. I actually used a bit of advice you suggested awhile back on my Scud Race Facebook page about the solution to only having sequential flap shifters on my wheel, by using a second joypad as the shifter. Using some old leftover screws, brackets and other bits of junk I could find, I made a crude clamp for an old cheap-a-rama USB pad that had a broken analog stick so I could mount it my computer desk next to the wheel and then just use the buttons to shift. Worked pretty well for M2 Emu Daytona USA. I was able to take what I'd learned using manual gears on the PS3 and finally get first place on the Daytona advanced course on M2 Emu (I don't think it's possible with automatic, I could barely finish advanced before the time ran out, never mind getting a podium place).
